Mr. Seaton founded SPI Partners based on his expertise in energy efficiency financing. Notably, he is a recognized industry expert in Property Assessed Clean Energy (“PACE”) financing programs. As Managing Partner, Mr. Seaton is responsible for firm strategy, business development, and research & analysis.
Mr. Seaton has 24 years of experience in finance, government, and sustainability. During his career, he served as lead investment banker or advisor for over $20 billion of the largest and most complex municipal infrastructure transactions in the United States. He also served as lead banker or advisor for numerous innovative energy efficiency, green bond, and solar projects.
Prior to founding SPI Partners, Mr. Seaton led a pioneering team at Wells Fargo Securities that was recognized as the first industry group responsible for energy efficiency/renewable energy/sustainable municipal financings nationwide. This group became one of eight businesses that currently underpin Wells Fargo’s corporate environmental commitment.
Prior to Wells Fargo Securities, Mr. Seaton was Head of Public Finance for a minority-owned investment banking firm and Managing Director at Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc. His past and present industry affiliations include the U.S. EPA’s Environmental Financial Advisory Board, Municipal Forum of New York, and National Association of Securities Professionals.
Mr. Seaton received his A.B. from Harvard University and an M.B.A. in Finance and International Business from Columbia Business School.
